Three 21 was founded by Rachel and Marc, after the birth of their daughter, Betsy, in 2017, in response to finding that it was a struggle to find out about what was on offer in the local area to help support her family. Two other mothers, Laura and Eleanor, who also have a child with Down's Syndrome, found they encountered the same problem. Laura's son William and Betsy were roommates in the Special Care Baby Unit and we met Eleanor, and her daughter Ava, at our local support group. Collectively, we all felt we needed to do something to provide new parents with the vital information and links to enable them to access the natural support already available within the North East Down's Syndrome community. Three 21 is supported by trustees who firmly support our mission to ensure that every family has access to the information they need after a diagnosis of Down's Syndrome.
